About FIRKI APP 

Firki is Teach For India’s online Teacher Education platform APP. In partnership with several organizations, Firki offers Asynchronous and synchronous learning Experiences in the Form of Courses, webinars, learning paths, online learning Circles, and Curated Resources. Course Details:

1. Course Overview:
   This course is designed for primary grade teachers of Grades 3 to 5 who wish to enhance their expertise in foundational mathematics. Teachers who opted for “Friendship with Numbers” in the TNA survey (2023-24) will be automatically enrolled and required to complete the course.
2. Learning Model:
   The course will adopt a blended learning approach, followed by two Peer Learning Circles (PLCs) during school complex meetings. The online component includes conceptual videos, classroom demonstration videos, reading materials, quizzes, a pre-test, and a post-test. Offline engagement will happen through PLCs, which involve group activities, reflections, sharing of best practices, challenges, and insights from the course. This collaborative format will enhance the understanding and application of concepts.
3. Platform for Delivery:
   The course content will be delivered through the teacher training Learning Management System (LMS) ‘FIRKI,’ with additional offline support provided through PLCs in monthly school-complex meetings.
4. Support System:
   To offer continuous support, Key Resource Persons (KRPs)—primary teachers selected based on complex-level criteria—will Assist Enrolled Teachers in Completing the TDP Mathematics Course. Each KRP will be responsible for 20-25 teachers in their school complex. They will help orient Teachers, Guide them through course onboarding, address technical and content-related issues, and facilitate PLCs. Detailed roles and responsibilities of KRPs are attached.
5. Participation in PLCs:
   As PLC-1 and PLC-2 are part of primary Complex Meetings, Teachers Not Enrolled in the course will also participate in group peer learning. This will create opportunities for all teachers to engage, share, and learn from each other.
